Rise above the crowd
And wade through toxic clouds
Breach the outer sphere
The edge of all our fears
Rest with you
We are counting on you
It's down to you....
The style of this piece is highly influenced and inspired by Exogenesis: Symphony Part 2 (Cross-Pollination) by the band Muse, the lyrics to which are above.
This cityscape is a view of the Century City / Beverly hills skyline area as seen from the Hollywood hills, California, at around 6pm.
Though the clouds were lovely and the sky was clear that day, I knew it was something that would never last. Pollution fills the sky so regularly over Los Angeles that such beautiful weather is only but a bittersweet reminder that there are parts of the world where skies are actually blue, clean, and clear. So I decided in my editing that I would show that bittersweetness by maintaining the beauty but giving it an ethereal, ominous atmosphere. Do you think it's over edited? Too bad. Photography, like painting, is an art form, and I'm trying to convey an atmospheric feeling here.
